Bloody Borsch

Ingredients:

  • 50 мл Ukrainian Spirit infused with bacon
  • 40 ml Tomato juice
  • 30 ml Fresh beetroot juice
  • 20 ml Honey syrup
  • 30 ml Fresh lemon juice
  • 1 dash Tabasco (optional, for spiciness)
  • 5 ml Apple cider vinegar
  • A pinch of salt
  • 175 ml Total
  • Ice

Preparation:

First, prepare the key ingredients:

  • Ukrainian Spirit infused with bacon — fry 150 g of bacon to render the fat. Transfer the bacon into a jar with 500 ml of Ukrainian Spirit vodka and add 2–3 tbsp of the rendered fat. Place in the freezer overnight. Once the fat solidifies on top, remove it and strain the vodka through cheesecloth or a paper filter.

  • Honey syrup — mix 100 ml honey with 50 ml warm (not hot) water in a 2:1 ratio. Stir until fully dissolved and store in the refrigerator.

Then shake in a shaker with ice: bacon-infused Ukrainian Spirit, tomato juice, beetroot juice, lemon juice, honey syrup, apple cider vinegar, Tabasco, and a pinch of salt. Shake well.

Strain into a glass with ice. Garnish with a piece of roasted beetroot or a celery stalk. Enjoy!
